Non-Life Insurance Application

Besides, profitability, performance and risk analysis in terms of channel and customer are enabled, and information security is paramount: INSURA keeps a detailed record of every transaction completed.

INSURA is an integrated system consisting of customer and sales channel management, issuance of policy, reinsurance, claims, collection, accounting functions and integration with external institutions relevant to the insurance business, such as TRAMER, DASK, TARSİM, Banks and Claims Management Company. INSURA provides product management based on these features.

Including authorization and reporting, all basic functions required by an insurance business are provided. Being a web-based application, INSURA is managed centrally and thus provides a benefit of lower maintenance costs.

INSURA’s modules

1.Customer Management

Follow up of insured’s information is provided over a central customer follow up management module. Customer consists of 3 different types such as; individuals, legal entities and foreigners. Individuals are followed by Identification Number whereas legal entities and foreigners are traced by Tax Identification Number and Passport Number (in case no Tax Identification Number is available) respectively. Customers may be added to customer groups which are created dynamically and relationships such as spouse, child may be established between the customers. Through this module, easy integration is provided to CRM applications.

2.Agency Management

Definition of production sources (agency, branch, sub-agency, etc.) for insurance companies may be provided so as to cover hierarchy of regional directorate: Due to this module; historical evolution of production sources may be also traced regionally and organizationally.


Authorization of users are provided in two stages. The first stage is “ROLE” authorization and user groups are authorized in terms of menu items. Second stage is the “AUTHORITY CLASS” which is executed in terms of transactions and user groups herein are provided authorities regarding production, commission, collection and claims transactions.

4.Product Development

Through this module; release of a new insurance product for the market which is critical for insurance companies or adaptation of existing products according to market needs are easily provided. Revisions required to be executed in product parameters due to changes either in market conditions or applicable legislation are kept historically and followed up. Consequently, it is possible to provide future-oriented pricing and customization (coverage, discount, minimum premium, clause, deductible, commonality, payment plan, etc.).

5.Issuance of Policy

Proposal, policy and addendum operations which are executed by production channels are able to be provided easily and rapidly by user screens which have been designed ergonomically. Approval procedures are defined parametrically and are managed automatically as well during policy production. This approval procedures are defined together with the product and are limited by user authorization.

6.Claims Management

It covers all operational processes starting from notice entries up to achieving of claims file. Notice entry, creation of claims file from notice, file follow up, document operations, expert appointment and expertise operations, injured party transactions, payment, recourse and salvage follow up transactions may be hereby provided, and all operations may be managed over work flow and document management system.

7.Reinsurance Module

Reinsurance distributions may be automatically executed in policy and branch basis according to “Quota Share” and “Surplus” agreements. Commission and treaty distribution definitions of these agreements may be also provided by this module. In addition, optional reinsurance works are provided in policy basis. All reinsurance distributions are followed up and revise in terms of policy. XOL follow up and calculations are also supplied parametrically.

8.Collection Module

Collection of policy and addendums which have been issued by production channels can be made in terms of policy through different collection means and policy debts may be followed up. Collections may be executed through check, bill, credit card, cash and bank account, due to virtual POS integration credit card provision operations can be executed instantly. Mass collection opportunity is available, and these mass collection payments are automatically distributed to policies which have been selected under different criteria.

9.Accounting Module

Chart of accounts may be created parametrically and accounting receipts of production, collection, claims and reinsurance transactions are produced automatically according to this chart of accounts. Besides, when definitions such as Agency, Customer, Reinsurance Company, Supplier are made, current accounts are created automatically over the chart of accounts. Moreover, all legal reports for accounting may be also provided over the accounting module.

10.Reporting Module

In addition with reports prepared in accounting module; reports which are obliged to be produced legally and institutional reports which are necessary operationally as well as further analytical reports may be also received over this module.

11.Document Management

It is a document management system created within INSURA software. Access to all documents is provided through this module. Policies are preserved as they have been printed on the paper. If further access is requested for printed policies, access is available upon its format and content which were original on the date of print. All documents (picture, video, etc.) prepared by Claims Department and added to claim files and experts reports are able to be followed up by this module.

12.Connection Module towards External Systems and Outsource Companies

Due to INSURA’s Web Service and XML interfaces; preparation and submission of information necessary for external systems is provided. External institutions, eg. Agencies, Claims Management Companies, Banks, may obtain all necessary information that they are looking for through services and interfaces provided by this module.

INSURA runs on Java2 Enterprise Edition technologies, utilizing a highly scalable multi-tier architecture. As a consequence, the risk of a modification in a layer, causing adverse effects in other layers are minimized. INSURA works cooperatively on multiple servers so the required data processing capacity can be built using multiple cost-effective mid-range servers. Future increases in performance requirements can be handled by increasing the number of servers, instead of investing in expensive high capacity servers. INSURA’s AJAX based user interface delivers performance and power-user features for ease of use. The user interface is multi-lingual. INSURA delivers information to each user in the user’s preferred language: a great advantage for insurance companies established in multilingual countries, or, doing business in various countries, or, employing people with different languages.
