Advanced-Tech for Branches (SILT) Project covers the renewal of Yapi Kredi Bank's banking software applications developed by IBM as desktop-clients, as a result of the company's decleration of ceasing OS/2 customer support. In the scope of the project, the existing applications running on OS/2 operating systems were replaced by Java based applications, developed by CYBERSOFT.
Features & Benefits
Existing applications used to run on a specific technical infrastructure that uses the special features of OS/2 operating system intensively such as memory-sharing feature between tasks. Therefore, a total transition to a new platform was technically a very complex task. During this transition process, Yapi Kredi Bank's IT development team that is responsible of future developments and system maintanence were included in all phases of the trainings provided by CYBERSOFT, in order to equip them with the essential knowledge on Java platform and programming language.
Additionally, a management-focused version of these trainings were provided to the top-management levels of the Bank on object-oriented approach, analysis, design and visual modeling with UML. This set of trainings were highly appreciated by Bank's high-level management staff.
